Schematic representation of the role of CK2 nutrients withdrawal. Upon nutrient withdrawal, CK2 phosphorylates Ser485 (S485) on Tel2 and Ser828 (S828) on Tt1, enabling the E3 ubiquitin ligase SCFFbxo9 to target Tel2 and Tt1. The mTORC1 complex is therefore disassembled, and its inhibitory effect on mTORC2 is subsequently removed, allowing the cell to maintain the survival state
