Modified TEX-mediated tumor-specific antigen presentation. To elicit a more efficient antitumor immune response, one strategy is to make genetic modifications to the original cells, such as CD40L- or cytokine gene (IL-2 and IL-18)-modified cancer cells, or add external stimulus to drive tumor cell release of more immunogenicity exosomes. Other strategies involve the combined treatment with TEXs and PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors or chemotherapy.
