The applications and regulations of the universal CAR (UniCAR) system. UniCAR T cells cannot lyse tumor cells without a switching molecule (concentration 0) and can only kill a limited number of tumor cells at low concentrations. The killing potency of the UniCAR T cells can be adjusted and programmed by changing the concentration of the switching molecules. This system can be programmed to fine-tune the activity of the UniCAR T cells or to shut it down with the cessation of administration of the switch molecules
