SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein binds to ACE2 and phosphorylates ACE2, leading to MAPK signaling activation (phosphorylation of Erk, p-38, and JNK) and subsequent platelet activation, coagulation factors release, and inflammatory cytokines secretion.
