The underlying roles of TAMs in tumor. TAMs consist of M1 and M2 macrophages, and M2 is the dominant type induced by TME components. TAMs promote tumor cell proliferation, angiogenesis, metastasis and immunosuppression through cytokine secretion, exosome release and ECM remodeling. Concurrently, tumor cells can also recruit macrophages and reeducate TAMs
