The therapeutic target as DACH1, a novel target oncogenic molecule of canonical Wnt signal to regulate cyclinD1 expression

Loss of DACH1 expression has been recognized in various types of tumors including breast, prostate, renal, and endometrial cancer. It has been found out that ectopic expression of DACH1 reduces TCF/LEF-dependent beta-catenin transcription activity and then inhibits the expression of Wnt/beta-catenin signaling downstream targets characterized by CD44, c-Myc and cyclinD1. In this research article, the authors have investigated into the epigenetic regulation to induce the inversed expression pattern between cyclinD1 and DACH1. However, it also seems to deserve to be investigated whether CD44 or c-Myc show the inversed expression manner as compared with DACH1.
