CAR architecture and the anti-tumor modes of CAR-M cells. A The architecture of CAR in CAR-M cells is similar to that in CAR-T cells, but the intracellular signaling domain is more abundant, mainly including CAR-T like and other intracellular signaling domains. B CAR-M cells are easily delivered to various tissues through blood vessels and can infiltrate solid tumors. C CAR-M cells can mediate tumor cell phagocytosis in a CAR-dependent and CAR-independent manner. Furthermore, CAR-M cell possess antigen presentation, costimulatory signaling, and cytokine secretion abilities to recruit other immune cells to participate in anti-tumor response.
